Hi, I’m Matthew Perry — Co-founder of Oak and Iron Property Watch, father of a 12 year old daughter and a 7 year old son, a husband of sixteen years, Army veteran, and lifelong Connecticut resident. I grew up in Naugatuck and joined the Army in 2006, serving six years as a Chinook  helicopter flight engineer, including a year in Afghanistan. That time taught me a lot — about responsibility, attention to detail, and what it means to have someone’s back. After the military, I spent eight years as a lead mechanic on corporate jets for Bombardier, where I sharpened my technical skills and leadership ability — but I knew I wanted something more. I didn’t start this business just to be my own boss. I started it to take control of my time, to build something lasting, and to spend more meaningful moments with my family before my kids grow up. Just as important, I want to be of service to those who need my passion and my skills as well.

My family would probably describe me as firm but funny — a hard worker who’s always ready to protect and provide. I’m proud of that. I believe in community, mutual respect, and  trustworthy service — and I built Oak and Iron on those same values. At Oak and Iron Property Watch, we believe a home is more than walls and a roof — it’s a place filled with memories, hard work, and meaning. We founded this company to help people protect not just their investment, but the stories and legacy tied to it. Our approach is simple: be attentive, be reliable, and bring peace of mind to every client we serve. We’re here to build relationships.
